Every secluded bay and protected harbor tells a story. Sailing in this variety of landscapes and spectacular volcanic sceneries is an unparalleled
synonymous of freedom and pleasure.

SailazoresPONTA-DELGADA-300x215Discover the nine emerald islands, the best kept secret in the middle of the Atlantic. We provide you the perfect yacht charter service for your adventure. Nature will take care of the rest.

With a population of around 240 000 inhabitants, the archipelago consists of nine islands gathered into three distinct groups: the Eastern Group, formed by the islands of Sao Miguel and Santa Maria; the Central Group, by the islands of Faial, Pico, Sao Jorge, Terceira and Graciosa; and lastly, the Group Western, by the islands of Flores and Corvo, and presents an orientation WNW-ESSE, being that alignment due to regional tectonics.

Relevant investments were made on infrastructures in the last decade and the Azores offers now marinas and/or recreational ports in 8 of its 9 islands, being the exception the little Corvo, in the western tip of the archipelago.

The Azores have privileged climatic conditions, with mild temperatures, due to the influence of the Gulf Stream, showing no major variations in air temperature throughout the year, reaching an average of 13oC (55oF) in winter and 23oC (73oF) in summer, whereas the water temperature remains between 18o and 24oC (64oF and 75oF).

Incentive, events and regattas.

5 votes

flotillaAre you looking for a thrilling, motivating  and energetic incentive trip or event? A corporate flotilla sailing cruise or regatta is the winning idea.

While immersed in breathtaking seascapes and involved in exciting activities, participants will build up team spirit, sense of belonging and corporate pride, with a high impact on the company’s image.

Sailing is widely recognized as a great way to strengthen team relationships between people with different backgrounds and personalities. In a competitive environment your team will learn how to communicate and work better while at the same time have fun. The final result is a stronger team capable of achieving ambitious business results!

All the projects are led by experienced skippers on board who will present the team with skills of boat steering, sails trimming and navigation. At the end of each day, briefing will be given to point out the good things as well as to discuss areas that need improvement.

The flotilla is always followed by a support boat, for technical assistance and fully equipped for the races (with buoys, flags, horn, ect.) in case of regattas. Every day the base staff will plan the best itinerary and race course according to the weather and the participants seamanship (because the weather conditions change, it is necessary to optimize the courses every day). The staff will also take care of the races departure and arrival procedures, times measurement and yardstick ratings for each boat in order to set a final ranking list when required.

Thanks to local contacts in the cruising area, marinas and restaurants along the itinerary can be booked for your group and also a final dinner or price-giving cocktail.

The best times of the year to organize this type of events in the Mediterranean Sea are spring and autumn: weather conditions are ideal for some real sailing, marinas are not crowded and charter prices are at their lowest.

Two great areas where to host this type of events are North-East Sardinia and Croatia, that offer ideal sailing conditions and a wide yacht selection. If you want to arrange a monotype regatta, Croatia is the right choice, with several monotype fleets located in different bases from North to South.

What is of utter importance is to book well in advance (at least 6 months, ideally more), otherwise it will be impossible to find exactly the right boats in the right dates.

We’ll work closely with you in order to find out your wishes and create the perfect corporate event for your company. Please contact us at charter@intercharter.com to let us know your needs and request an offer.

After your descent to Bol, bikes will be loaded on the boat and you will set sail to Stari Grad, on the island of Hvar. Your first route will take you from Stari Grad to Jelsa and then back to Stari Grad, through the ancient Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO Protected World Heritage Site, an agricultural landscape set up by the ancient Greek colonists in the 4th century BC. There you will have a break for a cup of coffee or a scoop of ice cream. You will then return to Stari Grad, where you can load your bikes on the boat and sail to the town of Hvar, or if you feel fit and eager, you can enjoy the hilly road to the town of Hvar that meanders through fields of best Croatian lavender and rosemary, passing the town of Selca on the way. In the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to explore the town of Hvar, known for its exceptional beauty. You can even climb the fortress built on a hill above the town for a panoramic view of the town of Hvar, its marina and the surrounding archipelago of islands. As the sun sets down, you can dress up and enjoy the bustling nightlife, since Hvar is also famous for its bars and clubs open late into the night.

DAY 4 Tuesday

After breakfast you will leave Hvar behind and set sail towards the small, tucked away island of Vis.

  1. Bike route, approx. 35 km, Vis – Komiža – Vis (difficulty level: MEDIUM)

At the end of the route the town of Kor?ula awaits, the alleged Marko Polo’s birthplace also known as “Dubrovnik’s Little Sister”, with its beautiful medieval fortifications and stunning sunsets. Boat stays for the night in the harbor, allowing you to explore the town and its surroundings.

DAY 6 Thursday

Sailing from Kor?ula to Omiš

The next day you will sail northwest along the Pelješac penninsula, around its tip and towards the mainland, passing the islands of Hvar and Bra?. Your destination for that day will be Omiš, the town of pirates situated in the amazing landscape of cliffs and rocks, where river Cetina meets the Adriatic.

  1. Bike route, approx. 13 km, Omiš – Radmanove Mlinice (difficulty level: LIGHT)

Bike route extension, approx. 12 km, Radmanove Mlinice – Podaspilje (difficulty level: MEDIUM)

After docking at the port of Omiš, we will mount the bikes and ride into the canyon of the emerald green river Cetina. Our first destination is “Radmanove Mlinice”, an old mill on the river built in the 17th century where you can decide to have a swim off the river beach into the exceptionally pure river water or decide to cycle on and up to the village of Podaspilje, for a fantastic view over the canyon and the river Cetina. You will then return to Omiš for an opportunity to explore its narrow streets and alleys, or even climb one of the fortresses on the cliff above the town. The boat will stay in the harbor for the night.

DAY 7 Friday

Sailing from Omiš to Split

In the morning the boat will leave the harbor and sail along the mainland to Split, to finish the full circle and to allow you enough time to explore the city of Split, the second biggest city in Croatia.

  1. Bike route, approx. 20km, Marjan hill in Split (difficulty level: MEDIUM)

Upon arrival, you will ride up to the top of Marjan hill for a grand view over the city of Split. Marjan hill is a forest park much beloved by the locals situated close to the town center. On this last evening you will have time for some more souvenir and postcard hunting, but also for a peek into the ruins of the ancient Diocletian Palace, a Unesco Protected World Heritage Site, around which the old town of Split is built. As you will notice, Split is a true Mediterranean city whose main promenade “Riva” comes alive with people as the sun sets down and the bars start opening. That is a perfect opportunity to have a drink, join the locals in people watching and reflect on the experience of the past seven days.

DAY 8 Saturday

In the morning breakfast will be served, after which farewell follows and disembarkation by 9 AM.
